I can't imagine that anyone would think that magical creatures are
benign. In fact, quite a lot of the topics that students at Hogwart's
are studying ARE dangerous, like Potions. One wrong move and who
knows what could happen. In "Fantastik Beasts and Where to Find
Them", very, very few of the beasts are benign.
Hagrid made it VERY clear how these animals were to be treated. I
don't buy for a second that any of this is Hagrid's fault.
I believe we see over and over again that the young wizards at
Hogwarts are required to really apply themselves and their brains for
the work that they're doing. It's a rigorous education in a very
complicated field and if they don't pay attention, all kinds of havoc
will likely ensue.
Suzanne (who must admit that she was a bit like Hermione in school
