Thank you, Pippin, for reminding me of GG's sword in Dumbledore's office.
At the time, that description made me wonder about the "Heir to Gryffindor"
even more than about the "Heir of Slytherin."
Question: does Dumbledore possess the sword because GG died without issue,
or did the Gryffindor line die out? Is Dumbledore quietly holding on to the
sword in trust for the rightful heir?
Was Harry able to kill the Basilisk with Godric's sword because he is Godric
G's true heir (a la the Arthurian "Sword in the Stone")?
Like Pippin, I believe the sword will be the ultimate weapon against V. I
certainly think we will see more of it in the coming volumes.
