I can't think of any canon evidence concerning Draco's performance 
as a student other than Lucius' expressing dissatisfaction with his 
being outdone by Hermione (but then she outdoes everyone).  However, 
I find it hard to believe that he's any brighter than just average.  
After all, he's consistently outsmarted by HRH, and keeps doing 
rather stupid things like taunting Harry during the Quidditch match 
instead of paying attention to the snitch.
Also, could anyone of really superior intelligence really hang 
around with Crabbe & Goyle 24/7?  I always assume that he tolerates 
them because they make him feel superior.

Was there really a discussion about Draco being *handsome*? LOL
