No, it doesn't. Call me a stubborn, old crank, but we've already had
a number of people who have been disguised as other people. I'm
going to be just a tad miffed if we find out that Arabella has been
using Polyjuice Potion or some other magical concoction, to look like
her own mother, or some other elderly wizard.

Agreed.

Because he was in school with Lily and James for years. He probably
heard Lily whining, complaining, bemoaning the fact that her sister
Petunia was jealous of her and her magic abilities. So, he knows of
Petunia's existence. He saw her at James and Lily's wedding. For
all we know, Petunia could have been maid of honor and poor Sirius
had to deal with her anti-magic attitudes at the wedding, as well as
the presence of the disagreeable Vernon. Sirius was James best
friend and James is an only child, so of course Harry would not be
living with any Potters. (Yes, I know, we don't know that from canon,
but if other people can fly into orbit with weird hypotheses, so can
I!!) We know that Sirius is a smart cookie - he probably knew that
Harry would be likely to be living with Lily's sister.

If he didn't know where Harry was after twelve years, why would
Sirius know where Arabella was, especially if we assume that Arabella
is planted in Harry's neighborhood to provide him with additional
protection?

Or Dumbledore simply realizes that he can send a brief note to his
devoted "old crowd" saying that he is sending them a most unlikely
messenger who will give them all the details of what they need to
know, but, trust him, this messenger is innocent of all that the
wizard world believes is true.
I think that we will see a scene with Sirius and Harry early in Book
5. Why? Because we know that Sirius will visit Arabella, she lives
near Harry, and Sirius tells Harry towards the end of Gof "You'll see
me very soon, Harry...I promise you." So, perhaps we'll get a
clearer picture of just who Arabella is...

Although I'm sure the above pairings were presented tongue-in-
cheek...Remus and Rita??? Ugh! He's far too intelligent. And Snape
and Sybil? He wouldn't have the patience to deal with someone so
completely self-absorbed in her own mystique. No, no... the only
one for Remus is...well, fans of The One True Way know who that
person is!!
