I agree with you completely, Greg. I think it has to do with Harry 
being the heir of Gryffindor, personally. It's also probable to me 
that James was also the heir, who naturally passed it down to his 
son. Lily meant nothing to Voldemort.

I also think that this all has to do with what happened when Salazar 
Slytherin left Hogwarts and that as the Slytherin heir, 
Riddle/Voldemort is seeking some kind of revenge.
