Also, not only would Sirius know of Petunia and Vernon, he's probably *met*
them.  They most likely met during the preparations for Lily's wedding, or
at the wedding itself.  Who knows?  Sirius might have been at Petunia's
wedding, or at Lily's parents funeral (if they are dead, which is assumed
because Dursleys are his only living relatives.)  There's a fanfic waiting
to happen.

Anyway, I never assumed Sirius needed outside help in locating Harry.  I
figured he got to Privet Drive using his prior knowledge of the Dursley
family and a good old-fashioned Muggle phonebook.
