During the sorting in the first book there is mention of Mandy Brocklehurst, a Ravenclaw.
Perhaps it's her. In the first grade I rebelled and insisted on being called Amanda instead of
Mandy. Mandy is a rather cutesy name, I thought. Maybe she felt the same way. :-)
