Possibly Ron was named after Ronald Regan. If we follow the Lexicon 
timeline Ron would have been born about the time Regan began his dark 
reign. I don't think it's likely myself, but I thought I'd throw it 
out there anyway.

Ginny was listed as Virginia Weasly at the Internet Film Database, 
but it still fits in with you theory.
