Actually, ever since I found out about Floo powder,
I've just been assuming that's what Hagrid meant, and
that Harry misunderstood.  Figured he went from
Hogsmeande to Diagon Alley and then to the leaky
cauldron.  Later, taking into account that he wasn't
familiar with Muggle things considered that he might
have arrived at Mrs. Figgs or somewhere near Harry. 
It's just that I've been assuming that Harry heard
"flew" when Hagrid said "Floo."  Does this make any
sense?
