I took the curses bouncing off each other as more a product of physics. The angles were probably the same and when they collided, their direction changed--momentum and all that.
A similar thing would happen if you threw too balls and they collided in midair, wouldn't it? Pick something less massive and the objects won't just fall once they collide; they'll bounce off each other and who knows where they'll end up.
