I always imagined that most wizards lived sort of like
the Weasleys. Just outside or in little towns in
houses that Muggles don't quite notice. I believe in
book 4 Molly writes in a letter that the postman
doesn't even know where the Burrow is. Besides that
there is Hogsmeade, and perhaps a few settlements (no
canon on this that I'm aware of, just my imagination
taking over) that are mostly wizard occupied.
