I know it's been speculated that Snape feels there is Gryffindor 
favoritism. But is there really canon for that? He thinks there is 
*Harry* favoritism. It would be surprising if there weren't, since 
Dumbledore himself predicts it in the very first chapter of Book 
One. But would Snape be on such good terms with McGonagall 
if he thought her House was always  favored over his?
