I think the Goblet is more analogous to the Sorting Hat, that is, sentient
and able to discern the quality and characteristics of the names for each
school. It rather seems to me that the strongest candidates from each school
were chosen, as far as I can tell, which would be quite a trick,
statistically, for a pure chance algorithm.
