Well, prior to the last winter Olympics I might have said that
didn't think I would ever seen them have skeleton in the Olympics
again.  But I wasn't alive the last time they had it in there.

People do know about things that happened before they were
born, some of which they would like to see happen again.  Things
that they for one reason or another do not think they will see 
happen in their lifetime.  I don't see that again as meaning
he ever saw one before.  Just that it is something that happened
in the past.  Something that he thought was unlikely to happen
again, especially before he died.
