Duh? One Word. POWER.
Voldemort may not be a pure blood, but he is the only one who can 
fulfill the darkest desires of the Death-eaters.

Who will believe Harry except D'dore & Company? He has no proof of 
that. Minister of Magic Fudge made sure of that.

I think Fudge is in league with Voldemort. That is why he had Criouch 
Jr. disposed off. So that he would not be able to spill the beans on 
Voldemort & his Death Eaters.
Remember the strange & almost happy gleam in Fudge's eye when Harry 
told him Voldemort had returned at the end of GoF in teh 
chapter 'Parting of the Ways'?
