So, I suppose what I am asking with this ramble is if anyone else feels
that Percy is the odd man of the family?
Definitely. Percy is quite out of place in his family. I think this is
because he is trying to be perfect - which no one can do. I think Percy
would be five by five if he just did what he wanted, instead of trying to be
perfect for his family. From personal experience, that never works out
correctly. I can see Percy pulling a Snape - going to the Dark Side and then
coming back. (This, of course, is founded on my belief that that is what
Snape did. If he didn't, then Percy will be pulling what will henceforth be
called a Percy.) Percy could join the Dark Side because he wants power, but
after being there for a while, he realizes it's too much to pay.
