The thought that came into my head is that it may have been a simple 
uncontrolled act of negation; an attempt to get Harry to stop what he was 
saying, but without tipping his hand. Maybe Snape is worried that Fudge is 
working both sides of this particular alley and that, by naming names, it'll 
get back to LV just how much the 'good guys' know about the competition?
