What is this preoccupation with heroes tempted to the dark side?!?
Harry Potter is a KID'S BOOK WITH A PG RATING! (I had to say that)

I don't believe any of the trio will go bad OR run away as they have 
all faced their demons in the first four books. Harry has faced death 
and LV in all 4 books and face to face in GofF.

RON, who played chess in Sorceror's Stone (Correction Chelsea) went 
into the unknown to save Ginny in CoS and never ran. He never backed 
down during PoA or GoF and will stand by Harry to the end.

HERMIONE, is the surprising character. A Muggle-born witch, she 
suddenly finds herself confident to the most famous wizard of her 
generation. A year before Book 1  she probably hadn't evem HEARD of 
Magic and suddenly she's thrown in the middle of a war against an 
undead sorcerer who wants to kill all of her kind! Does she do want 
any normal 11 yr old would do and run? NO! SHE joins Harry and Ron 
into the unknown. She helps Harry reach Quirrel in SS.

In CoS is the first to discover they face a basilisk that' 
targeting muggleborns. Does she run? NO! She has the courage and 
intelligence to look around corners with a mirror. And after being 
petrified for over a month what's her first thought? "OhmyGod It tried 
to kill me?" NO! It's "They're cancelling Exams? OH NO!"

If any main character is TEMPTED (which does not mean corrupted) It 
will probably be Percy who at 18 or 19 found himself running the 
entire Department for International Cooperation. In the next book, he 
will suddenly find himself torn between Dumbledore and Fudge. He may 
have to choose either his Father or his career. Difficult dilemma for 
a first job, Huh?
