Snape Played Quiddich?

Ahem....

I went reading the LOLLIPOPS very LONG biography this day and tripped
up when I read the following:

"Snape's behaviour makes much more
sense. He lays eyes on 11yo Harry at the Sorting, and what does he
see?
Someone who looks almost exactly like the man who outclassed him in
Quidditch,"

Where is the evidence (or the canonical suggestion) that Snape played
Quiddich? Snape refereeing Quiddich is simply a teacher stepping in
with teacher authority to regulate student behaviour. I don't think
that is evidence for having playing that sport.
