I've wondered, too, if this is where the story is
headed. My speculation is mostly based on that
intriguing "gleam" of Dumbledore's, followed
immediately by his looking older and more tired than
Harry has ever seen him when he (Dumbledore) is told
of the new connection between Harry and Voldemort. I
know that there has been plenty of speculation on this
list about the use of Harry's blood in restoring
Voldemort to his body...that perhaps Voldemort cannot
kill Harry without killing himself as well. Should
this be the case, Harry may very well have to make a
decision to sacrifice himself for the greater good.

If he does, I think that JKR would handle it with
enough grace to keep from traumetizing her readers -
perhaps a joyful reunion with his parents - that is a
"tragic" ending I could probably live with. If we
have to say good-bye to our beloved Harry, I will
stubbornly hold out for a "happily ever after" of some
sort!

-Mary, who really doesn't want Harry to die at the
end, but fearfully keeps looking for foreshadowing to
that effect anyway.
