Neville's Skill or Narrator's Style?

Hello, I am fairly new to this world, so I don't mean to step on any 
toes if this has been discussed before. So, Neville often seems to 
disappear and reappear in a different place. Let's use exhaustion--GF-
-Harry, Herm, Ron, and Neville get off the boat. They enter Hogwart's 
and are attacked by Peeve's. From this point on, Neville is not 
mentioned again until he seems to creep up out of nowhere and step 
into the hole in the stairs where he is described as being right 
behind Harry, Ron, Hermi and the twins as they retire to the dorm.(He 
also talks about Gran and the family honor)---GF--In DADA class, 
Neville mentions the Cruciatus Curse. He again falls out of the 
picture until the trio walk out of class and Hermionne surprisingly 
points out a confused Neville who is standing in a corridor facing a 
brick wall. Also, Moody takes Neville to talk about things, and Harry 
goes to lunch. Harry returns to his room to find Neville comfortable 
on his bed and proud with his new book. PA---Ron screams when he 
awakes to Sirius standing over him with a knife. In the description 
of what follows, everyone in Harry's room is mentioned by name--
except of course, Neville. But Dean, Seamus, Ron and Harry all speak 
or act. "They" scramble out of bed and "they" sprint downstairs 
but "they" are not defined as including Neville. Neville of course is 
not mentioned until he raises his hand, squeaks, and has on those 
fluffy slippers. Why wasn't there any mention of Neville in the 
moments after Sirius left? Wouldn't you check if Neville's okay or 
tell him to nevermind the bunny slippers and move his tail? Or in 
Moody's class, (I DONT HAVE GF ON ME!) How did he get in front of the 
class if he didn't run out or leave early? How does he beat Harry 
back to the room during lunch and how did he avoid the hole in the 
stairs getting there? Why did Harry awake from his dream with 
something that felt like he was "smacked in the face", why did Ron 
even wake up, and why does N have his slippers on the night Sirius 
was in the room? Why did his Uncle drop him out the window?? Why do 
Dumbledore and Fawkes seem to show up in weird places (Desire mirror 
room and the chamber)? Oh, I shall stop right now. If you have read 
this, you are tired and deserve some sort of cash compensation.
