The Character In The Most Enviable Position

I have been thinking about this since it was posted and last night as 
I was trying unsuccessfully to sleep, the answer came to me.

First of all, I envy every single child who gets a letter from 
Hogwarts.  What I wouldn't give to go there!  I envy all of the 
characters for being able to live in a world where invisibility cloaks 
exist, broomsticks can fly, people can turn into animals and... where 
magic just *is*.

Individually, though I don't really envy any of the characters except 
for... Hedwig.  She has the best deal.  She's beautiful, flies, 
belongs to Harry and is able to often get away with having quite the 
attitude.  She doesn't have to deal with Voldemort or Snape (or 
Hagrid) and she gets to travel all over the wizarding world.  She is 
also often rewarded for her work: with a shared breakfast or a petting 
from Harry.

What a life!
