Oh, that Amos Diggory is one to watch in OoP, isn't he? The Daily
Prophet is saying that Harry will do anything to win. That Harry is
dangerous and disturbed. That Harry cheated to enter the Tournament
in the first place.
Then Harry and Cedric enter the Third Task tied. And who just
happens to show up at the finish line holding the Cup in one hand
and Cedric's cold dead arm in the other? That just plain doesn't
look good.
I think Amos will manifest his grief by stirring up trouble for
Harry at MoM. This won't be hard, after all, because *everyone* at
MoM is an evil DE. Fudge. Bagman. McNair. Avery. Oh sure, Harry
has Percy and Arthur Weasley to watch his back for him at MoM.
Small comfort, that.
No, Amos won't *mean* to help the DEs. He is grief-stricken; he
doesn't care about who wins in the Good vs. Evil fight. His aid to
the DEs will be ancillary to his own efforts to avenge Cedric. But
the result will be the same -- Amos is going to have it in for Harry.
And we've all seen how snippy he can get if he even *suspects* that
a house elf has been waving a wand around.
Amos Diggory definitely has my pity, but I'm not going to let him
out of my sight.
