Well, I've just found the following piece of news on iharrypotter.net:

                            ***
Will Snape Push up Daisies?
I had an e-mail from one of our readers that states that none other
than Snape is the character that dies! Now, until I read the article,
I can't be sure this is valid. But news is slow, so here is the
e-mail: "Did you hear the news? The main character that dies in the
book is Snape. Entertainment Tonight said that he 'died with honor'. I
guess he dies saving Harry."
                            ***

I still think that this character is likely to stay alive just because
it is so easy to imagine him finding the redemption in honorable
death. Besides, JKR hates him :).

Ana.
