I am more than slightly confused as to the motivation of putting this "essay" 
on an HP fan list? I, for one, do not feel it appropriate.

First and foremost, please don't assume that everyone wants to raise their 
children with "Judeo-Christian" ethics and viewpoints. 

Secondly, if you are going to write a critical essay of HP or any other 
books, it would serve you well not to be so opinionated.
