Well, the one that always stands out for me is when in _CoS_ they're
wondering what Tom Riddle got the "Award for Special Services" for,
and Ron says, "Maybe he killed Myrtle, that would have done everyone a
favor."  And bingo! -- It turned out Riddle *DID* kill Myrtle (via the
basilisk)!!
