To be nitpicky, Ron doesn't just say "I'm the sixth in our family to 
go to Hogwarts" but that he has five *wizard* brothers. (Harry: "Wish 
I'd had three wizard brothers."  "Five," said Ron.)  

Perhaps he had an evil squib brother, who was disowned?
