The books a Hogwarts Cover-up???

I'm sure that several have had that exact same wishful thought, I 
know I have.  It really would be wonderful that there really is magic 
out there and a Hogwarts, a whole different world alongside yet set 
apart from our 'muggle' one.  Though if it were real I'm sure the 
wizards wouldn't be nearly so ignorant of us muggles and many of the 
other aspects in the book would be different but then these are 
childrens' books and have to be written accordingly.  The one problem 
I would have with the books being a cover-up is that I'd like to know 
if there was a whole magically world out there and I'd like to think 
that muggles and wizards could work toghether instead of being so 
seperate.
