You're right, she only explicitly objects to the transfiguration.  
Thanks for the quote (I really need to get the book back so I can 
look this stuff up myself).

Still, I can't help but feel that if Moody had turned Draco into a 
ferret and then cuddled him and gave him some tasty ferret treats, 
there would've been a lot less outcry from McGonnagal (and none at 
all from us). <EG>

Note that your quote does establish that critter-bouncing is not 
considered appropriate punishment at Hogwarts, and that Dumbledore 
had pointed this out to Moody.
