You know, I've read the books in the opposite direction: first Spanish, 
then (just the first one, books are expensive!) in English, and I found 
the Spanish version much more formal, while the original (when 
charaters were speaking, specially Hagrid) was extremally colloquial. 
However, there is a very technical reason for this: when you learn a 
foreign language (Spanish in your case, English in mine), you're taught 
the formal version of it, while the colloquial part must be learnt by 
actually living in the country itself, or else it's very difficult to 
learn (I've picked up enough to understand it, but it doesn't come as 
naturally to me as it does to you).
