I don't think anyone /does/ find it offensive.  By my reading the original point was that people were confused as to why it was added for one countrys printing and not for all of them.  If it was an omission surely it would have been changed for every country, if not... what is it.  I think that was more the issue than anyone saying it shouldn't be there, or he shouldn't be black or whatever.
