<smile> Do you really think British children don't swear? JKR could have
included all sorts of ugly words with perfect verisimilitude, if that were
the kind of book she had wanted to write.
Come to that, do you really think British schoolchildren don't indulge in,
um, hanky panky?
But I agree, the slang would be different in an American boarding school.
