Good point that it comes from Riddle, who is not the
most honest of sources; e.g. he also says Harry has
"no extraordinary magical talent" (CS 17) but the Hat
seems to think Harry is very talented (PS/SS 7; who
knows, though, maybe it's talking about Quidditch
<g>). The height may be an argument in Riddle's
favor, though; Harry's dad was tall, so it wouldn't be
surprising if he were too by the time he was 16. But
then, I'm biased toward their having a physical
resemblance because I like what it says about the
choice v. birth issue, namely that two people who
start out with many similarities can end up being
dramatically different due to their moral choices.

Except that JKR has been very cagey about the mistake
that isn't a mistake (ancestor/descendant).

Amy Z
who hopes Harry isn't the descendant of *any* of the
Founders

"I've got two Neptunes here," said Harry after a
while, frowning down at his piece of parchment, "that
can't be right, can it?"
"Aaaaah," said Ron, imitating Professor Trelawney's
mystical whisper, "when two Neptunes appear in the
sky, it is a sure sign that a midget in glasses is
being born, Harry. . . ."
