Well that blows the omniscient Dumbledore theory out of the water. The more
I think about it, most likely Dumbledore wanted Harry to grow up with a
"normal life." He couldn't have that staying with anyone in the wizard
world for sure. Muggle orphanages aren't quite "normal" either. So I guess
Dumbledore was taking a gamble with the Dursleys. Still, the impression I
get from reading other posts is if he'd known the way Harry was treated he'd
have stepped in. Which means he must've not known which means he's not all
knowing. Right? Sort of? :)

Where is it said (by someone with authority at least, like Dumbledore) that
the Dursleys' are the only *blood relatives* Harry has left? Dumbledore
says "They're the only family he has left now." Not the only blood
relatives. There's a difference. A great great grandfather or great great
uncle or something would be a blood relative, but many people referring to
family are looking at immediate family (grandparents, aunts, uncles). Not
to mention if Harry IS related to Dumbledore, he could hardly raise him
right in the middle of Hogwarts.
