The thing about Harry that made it change it's mind
was the fact the he was wishing hard to himself "not
slytherin not slytherin." The hat read his mind and
let Harry make his own decision rather than its first
instinct. (This goes into the whole discussion of
choice that Dumbledore brings up later.) The hat
listened to Harry's wishing and put him in Gryffindor
as a second choice.

I didn't read the article but I have a comment on
this... the reason Voldemort used Harry blood for the
resurrection spell was because of the protection he
had recieved from Lily's sacrifice. He said he could
have used any foe's blood (as he had many) but he
wanted Harry Potter's. The protection of his blood was
what led to his demise...and considering how long he
had been in power, I'm assuming there was nothing
anyone else could think of to harm him. So now he not
only has the strength of before but he has the same
protection of love that Harry had to defeat him in the
first place. This makes for a very dangerous and
seemingly unstoppable Voldemort.
Now as to how this pure love coursing through his
veins will affect his demeanor is another question.
Maybe his plan will backfire and he will find that
taking that protection into himself will have some
kind of side affects. Any thoughts?
