I agree with both. If Draco wasn't his cruel little self, who would
he be? He's got the courage - yes, courage - to go up against Potter
in a duel...the one who supposedly destroyed Voldemort...think about
that. If he's a friend to Potter, then he's alienated his family and
become a 'sidekick', and lost all his own power. Draco is decidedly
not a sidekick. And remembering back to my school days - the boys
were always attacking girls they liked..so Hermione just may be
someone that Draco admires, only being of such low birth (according
to his own heritage)he cannot afford to like her...so he calls her
names so she won't even be a temptation.

Will he continue to be a thorn in Harry's side? Yes. Will he finally
grow up and have a mind of his own....only JKR knows for sure!

As for Neville, it looks like a case of someone really afraid to
become powerful. If he does, he could end up like his parents.
Remember, he's the first to fly a broom. It responded to him
immediately. Also, if our trio takes after the makers of the
Marauder's Map, they may take on a fourth - and what kind of animagi
do you think each may be?
