Great info about Mundungus Fletcher, guys!
I hadn't realised he'd already popped up in CoS as well as GoF, but a
grown up Fred/George character at the MoM sounds like a fun prospect
for future books...
Just to pick up from Lara's excellent post about Mundungus & new
locations for the future. She wrote that..

I couldn't find any canon evidence whatsoever, but I have a gut
feeling that the dungeon was in Azkaban itself, what with Dementors
moving around so freely & bringing the prisoners in and out. As they
seemed so frazzled on entrance (esp Crouch Jr) I would think they'd
been in contact with the Dementors for a short while, but perhaps not
long enough to have all hope sucked out of them yet. The whole vibe of
those scenes (reminiscent of Spanish Inquisition) was certainly dark
enough
There's also the issue of transportation - would you really want to
take (alleged) DE's and other ne'er-do'wells away from Azkaban once
you;d actually got them there? If they're dangerous enough to warrant
Dementor guards wouldn't there be a risk of them Apparating or
escaping? (although we know that at least Crouch Jr & Sirius have
successfully escaped from Azkaban).
But on the other hand, would all the wizards from the MoM, Dumbledore,
family & friends (& Rita Skeeter and any other WW paparazzi) really
want to travel to Azkaban? Not exactly a day trip bus destination, is
it? Perhaps they could apparate in & out - but what would prevent
the prisoners from doing the same?
Ho hum...looks like I'm shooting holes in my own musings with can(n)ons!
What do others think?
