Not Different Release Dates for UK & US

Hi all --

Liz asked where Tara had read the info that OoP would be released in the UK prior to the US.  I have serious doubts that this will ever happen again.  For those who don't remember, this is how it was handled with Books 1-3, though of course the books weren't nearly so well-known or popular in the US until around the time that PoA was released.  As it happens, PoA was released in the UK some 4 mths or so before the projected release date of PoA in the US.  Scholastic lost scads of money because the US customers simply ordered the UK version from amazon.co.uk rather than wait for Scholastic's edition to be released.  It's my understanding that Scholastic (or whoever ends up publishing OoP) will not ever repeat that mistake again.  In fact, they indicated when they announced the release date of July 8, 2000 for GoF that the UK and US release dates would forevermore be the same date.
