Hi everyone! I'm new to the list, but I couldn't resist passing
along this information.

Today, I received my pre-ordered paperback edition of GOF, and
turned right to chapeter 34, "Priori Incantatem." Sure enough, the
familiar words have been changed. The following is taken from page
667 of the USA paperback edition of GOF (emphasis added):

"And now another head was emerging from the tip of Voldemort's
wand...and Harry knew wheh he saw it who it would be...he knew, as
though he had expected it from the moment when Cedric had appeared
from the wand...knew, because the *woman* was the one he'd thought
of more than any other tonight..."

And so it continues, with Lily telling Harry "Your father's coming,"
and the rest we already know. I need to read the whole scene, and
indeed the whole ending really, because as I recall, Harry was
thinking a lot about his father on the final day of the Triwizzard
Tournament, but not so much about his mother, and I wonder if any
editing was done to this end so that the phrase "the woman he'd
thought about more than any other" makes a little more sense.

I guess we already knew that the Priori Incantatem scene was flawed,
but it was strangely exciting to see the changes for real, and to be
(crossing her fingers) the first to post about them!

Cheers! Off to read my new paperback!
