Hello all! I've been reading back over things and something popped out at me that I hadn't really noticed before. I looked at the archives to see if this has been discussed before, but couldn't find anything, so if it has, could someone please point me in the right direction?

My observation is this: In every book, something significant happens on Halloween. In PS/SS it's the troll experience and the true formation of the Trio; in CoS it's when the writing first appears on the wall and Mrs. Norris is petrified; in PoA Sirius breaks into Hogwarts and slashes the picture of the Fat Lady; and in GoF Halloween is the night that Harry's name comes out of the goblet. Not to mention that the Potters were murdered on Halloween. Each book contains a major plot breakthrough on Halloween.

So why is this date so important? Is it just coincidence, or is there some magical reason that something big always happens on this date? And what will happen in the next books on Halloween?

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this. It might not even be important, but I just found it interesting.

Thanks,
Stephanie
