Halloween is also Nearly Headless Nick's deathday.  The trio "celebrates" 
with the Gryffindor ghost, but never in any of the books is there a mention 
of Harry mourning his parents' death or even a mention of his acknowledging 
it. Of course, that doesn't mean it never happened, it just seems odd that it 
is never included in the books.  Harry was too young to really remember, but 
encountering Dementors allowed him to relive Halloween of 1981.  He has been 
told that the night of Lily and James' deaths was Halloween by Hagrid in 
PS/SS p. 55 "All anyone knows is, he turned up in the village where you was 
all living, on Halloween ten years ago." Maybe it's just me, but that's 
always bothered me.
