I wouldn't necessarily say book 5, and the how and why of it are 
pretty much open to speculation, but after Dumbledore I think Snape's 
the most likely adult to cash in his chips before the series ends (on 
the good guys' side anyway; villians are another matter entirely).

Snape's walking a very fine line here--before too long, he's either 
going to have to grow up and bury the hatchet or he's going to snap 
and go completely evil (this is, of course, assuming that he is in 
fact on Dumbledore's side to begin with, and not a double agent, 
triple agent, or whatever).  In the former case, he seems ripe for a 
great "redemptive sacrifice" scene; in the latter, he'll be fair game 
along with Voldemort et al.
