Hm.

If Ron really betrays Harry, I can't see "great happiness"
in his future, even if he repents.

Would Harry really forgive him? Hermione? His family?

I can't see Ron find great happiness in leading a life where
nobody ever fully trusts him again.

But then, I don't believe he will betray Harry.
