But I was under the impression that all the copies were checked out
*because* people wanted to find out about the chamber, as I can't think
of any class that they'd need it for. Dumb History of Magic never
covering anything of interest, as it were.
But! I also thought it was strange that they had to go to the library
to get it, as Hermoine has obviously read at least some of it already,
before she gets to Hogwarts. How would she have done that without
owning it? Is there a library in Diagon Alley that we don't know about?
