JKR has said that she didn't write the books with the intention of 
becoming a best-selling author. She writes them to please 
herself. As far as we know she's answerable only to her own 
sense of taste. She's not dependent on her publisher's wishes 
and she's got more money than she can spend. If she means to 
do something impractical or unbusinesslike,  what's to stop her?
