Well, I'll go where Jenny didn't and say that your and Elkins' 
interpretation of the graveyard scene didn't occur to me.

As for the imagination, where else can any subtext be?  The only 
question is, is it in JKR's imagination, and even that's pretty 
nearly irrelevant, according to some.
