My favorite is in CoS, when Ron and Harry first arrive at Hogwarts after 
getting out of the car and Ron and Harry are discussing why Snape isn't at 
the table. (CoS p.77 US):
"Maybe he's ill!" said Ron hopefully.
"Maybe he's left," said Harry, "because he missed out on the Defense Against 
the Dark Arts job again!"
"Or he might have been sacked," said Ron enthustically, "I mean, everyone 
hates him -"
"Or maybe," said a very cold voice right behind them, "he's waiting to hear 
why you two didn't arrive on the school train."

That is the funniest thing ever!  (Maybe more so because I do that all the 
time....I say something about someone and they're right behind me!)  I think 
I blushed for them when I first read it.
