I don't think this is the biggest problem, cover stories are easy to 
make up. The truth works too, but my question is: Why do Hermione's 
parents or any of the other muggle parents and children belive in the 
letter from Hogwarts? Harry only believes it because Hagrid convinces 
him and they can not send a giant to everyone. If I got that letter I 
would think that it was a prank.
