Wow, now that's an impressive question.  If dumbledore 
convinced snapes to go to the dark side for him, it would explain 
why Dumbledore trusts Snapes so much. and why he is 
convinced that snape will do no harm,a dn why he's protecting 
him.  i think more often then not we like to think  that all slytherin 
as being dark mages, that's why we would assume that snape 
was a bad guy before changing in to a good guy.  Humm, I need  
more time to ponder this question...
