In fact, we know Hagrid was talking crap, since at the time he said 
this, Sirius Black, Gryffindor stud-muffin extraordinaire, was 
sitting in Azkaban with the whole wizarding world (including Hagrid) 
believing that he was Voldemort's best buddy.  And even after it 
turned out that Sirius is innocent, the guilty party was yet another 
Gryffindor.  So we *know* not all the wizards who went bad are 
Slytherins.
